Hepatitis B Virus Educational Media Database

Published: August 13, 2015
Issue: ,

Findings from AAPCHO’s Reducing Asian Hepatitis B Disparities Through Health Information Technology (HIT B) project indicated that increasing awareness of proper hepatitis B virus (HBV) management should be prioritized to promote a healthy lifestyle, facilitate self-care, encourage adherence to treatment regimens, and prevent liver disease progression among the study’s Chinese and Vietnamese target populations.

While there are many HBV multimedia health education materials in both traditional and new technology formats in circulation, there is limited literature documenting the effectiveness, accessibility, and cultural and linguistic appropriateness of these products for these populations.

AAPCHO conducted an environmental scan of existing hepatitis B education videos and “edutainment” or educational entertainment content designed to educate and to entertain, and collected feedback from hepatitis B experts and community partners to compile HBV educational media for these populations. See those resources below.

We encourage you to send us your feedback or additional resources, and to let us know if any of the existing links are broken, as we will continue to update this database and evaluate its usefulness for researchers and health centers with your contributions. To reach us, email research@aapcho.org.
