Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (AA&NHPIs) are diverse in their culture, language and health needs, representing more than 50 ethnic groups and over 100 languages. As a rapidly growing and diverse population, AA&NHPIs face unique and significant social, emotional, and physical health burdens due to the deficits they experience related to the social determinants of health (SDH) such as poverty level, limited English proficiency, education, and health insurance status.
One of the main challenges health centers face is collecting disaggregated data on AA&NHPIs to properly demonstrate their needs and health outcomes. AAPCHO is hosting a three part series designed to help health centers learn of new tools and strategies they could use and share in documenting the specific health needs of AA&NHPIs. The goal is that health centers could adapt and apply these tools to better collect this important data to not only demonstrate the needs of these diverse and vulnerable populations but to tell the stories of their own health centers in meeting those needs and improving the health of their communities.

In this third webinar of AAPCHO’s learning series on data and AA&NHPIs, attendees participated in a peer-to-peer learning session. Effective strategies, tools, and resources to successfully complete a community needs assessment were shared by a leading AA&NHPI serving health center.
By the end of the webinar, participants:
1. Learned about health center specific promising practices.
2. Increased knowledge of available resources to improve health center capacity to monitor and track the needs of medically underserved areas and populations.
