Tell Congress to Support Health Center Funding

Take action and ask your Members of Congress to support Health Center Funding Cliff by co-sponsoring legislation that extends the Community Health Center Fund (CHCF).

Three bills have been introduced in the U.S. Senate to reauthorize the CHCF for five years. Without reauthorization, the CHCF will lapse at the end of the fiscal year.

  1. S. 106 – The Community Health Investment, Modernization, and Excellence (CHIME) Act
  2. S. 192 – The Community and Public Health Programs Extension Act
  3. S. 962 – Community Health Center and Primary Care Workforce Expansion Act of 2019

Three bills have been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives.

  1. H.R. 2328 – Community Health Investment, Modernization, and Excellence (CHIME) Act of 2019
  2. H.R. 1943 – Community Health Center and Primary Care Workforce Expansion Act of 2019
  3. H.R. 2740 – Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, Defense, State, Foreign Operations, and Energy and Water Development Appropriations Act, 2020

Other Ways to Take Action

  • Post to social media! The more media attention the CHCF gets, the better. Get your providers to post too! Tag your Members of Congress. Tips and strategies for posting on social media can be found here and with the CHC Funding Blitz Tool Box.
  • Mobilize your Community! Advocacy mobilization is great way to highlight the importance of CHCF.
  • Tell your story! Share your health center’s stories with your Members of Congress and tell them why they should also #valueCHCs! You can also share your stories with us by emailing policy@aapcho.org or submitting them online at www.aapcho.org/share-your-story.
  • Send postcards (currently available in Chinese, Khmer, Korean, and Vietnamese) to your Members of Congress! Tell them why you #valueCHCs and ask that them to support health center funding!
