AA&NHOPI Health Voice
AAPCHO’s AA&NHOPI Health Voice project is a multi-year initiative to promote ongoing civic engagement efforts at health centers primarily serving medically underserved Asian Americans & Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders (AA&NHOPIs).
Voter Engagement Campaign 2014
Leveraging the 50th anniversary of Freedom Summer 1964, a landmark event in the fight for voting rights, and the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Community Health Center Program next year, AA&NHOPI Health Voice is kicking off with a voter engagement campaign from National Voter Registration Day on September 23, 2014 to Election Day on November 4, 2014.
Goal
The goal of this voter engagement campaign is to engage and build the capacity of AA&NHOPI-serving health centers to empower the communities they serve through the right to vote. By offering voter registration technical assistance, AAPCHO and its members aim to continue the legacy of Freedom Summer and reconnect health centers with their civic engagement roots to improve and develop best practices for overall civic engagement and participation of medically underserved and disenfranchised AA&NHOPIs.
