Medically Underserved AA&NHOPIs by County

AAPCHO’s Medically Underserved Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities Project (MUAC) project provides a county-level assessment of where Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders (AA&NHOPIs) lack access to health care, and helps government agencies and public health workers effectively address AA&NHOPI needs.

These maps highlight medically underserved and severely medically underserved AA&NHOPI counties, as well as provide county-level geographical representations of variables used in AAPCHO’s MUAC project. These variable include percent of AA&NHOPIs, AA&NHOPI poverty and Limited English Proficiency (LEP) rates, and physician to patient (FTE) ratio. Data used for this project originated from the U.S. Census and the Bureau of Primary Health Care.
