NACHC Community Health Institute and Expo
August 25-27, 2013
This year’s conference kick off in Chicago as key provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) take effect. The vast changes in the health care environment set in motion by ACA implementation raise new issues for Community Health Centers and their patients in all areas of operations – financial, clinical and policy. The NACHC CHI will bring together the most up-to-date information about the transformation now taking shape, and give you the tools to stay strategically competitive in the new Health Insurance Marketplace. For more information about this event, go to: http://meetings.nachc.com/c-training/community-health-institute-and-expo.
The Candidate’s Forum provides a vehicle for candidates to introduce themselves to the entire NACHC membership prior to the Annual Convention. This year, Dr. Grace Wang, ICHS Medical Director, is running for Vice Speaker of the House in the NACHC Board and we encourage all AAPCHO members to vote for her at the NACHC House of Delegates on Sunday, August 25. An eligible center unable to attend the House of Delegates can vote by proxy. To learn more about voting by proxy, click here.
Please spread the word to other NACHC members to support Dr. Wang and continue to ensure that there is Asian American, Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander representation in the NACHC Board.
Grace Wang, MD, MPH
International Community Health Centers
My name is Grace Wang and I am a candidate for the office of Vice-Speaker of
the House. I am a family physician and currently serve as the Medical Director for International Community Health Services in Seattle, Washington.
I have had the opportunity to serve in primary care leadership roles for both
community health and public heath settings for close to a quarter of a century. I am also an East Coast transplant to the Pacific Northwest where I have lived for the past 16+ years. NACHC has been a constant source of support, knowledge and inspiration throughout my professional career and for the past three years I have had the unique opportunity to serve as an elected Clinician Representative to the NACHC Board of Directors.
Seeking elected office for a position on the NACHC Executive Committee during a transformational time of unprecedented access to care includes a responsibility to also advocate for those who will not have the benefits of the Affordable Care Act. It will be an honor for me to serve, if elected, in the leadership of an organization whose mission and vision encompasses access to care for all underserved populations. I am very grateful for your support.
